REGISTRATION

You are requested to show your Library Card when you use the
library. Please apply for your card at the information &Cir-
culation Desk. The Library Card is also effective for Branch
LIbraries until your graduation or,for faculty,retirement.

BORROWING & RETURN

When borrowing library materials,they must be presented to
the Circulation Desk together with your Library Card. Books
to be returned should be taken to the appropriate area of
the Circulation Desk. If the library is closed,they can be
left in book bin outside the entrance.

   Undergraduate students      5books 14days     
   Graduate students          10books 30days         
   Faculty members            20books 30days            

MATERIALS NOT FOR LOAN

Reference books,Rare books,Micro-films,Cassette tapes,Video
tapes,Latest journals and periodicals,newspapers.

RENEWAL OF BORROWING

If you want,books borrowed may be renewed once(for one week),
unless another user has requested them.

RESERVATION

If something you want is already out on loan,it can be reser-
ved. Please inquire at the Circulation Desk.

ARRAGEMENT OF MATERIALS

Books are classified and arranged according to the NDC(Nippon
Decimal Classification) system. Journals are arranged alphabet-
ically according to title.

CATALOG SEARCHES

Since April 1986 the catalog has been changed from a card-catalog
to an Online Public Access Catalog(OPAC) system. T0 locate books
obtained before 1986,please use the card-catalog.

The reference Desk can assist in making searches for materials
(title,author,publisher,etc.)

INTER-LIBRARY LOAN

Materials not available in the library can often be borrowed
from other libraries. The borrower is responsible for post-
age costs.

REPRODUCTIONS

Photocopy machine and Microfilm reader-printer,etc .are avai-
lable for your use. Materials not available in the library can
be copied from other libraries.

   Prices are as follows
       Personal expense                20yen per sheet
       University funds(Faculty only)  12yen per sheet
       Requests to other institutions  35yen per sheet

USE OF LANGUAGE LABORATORY, etc

Video Tape Recorder,Language Laboratory,Compact Disk and other
audio-visual equipments study materials are available for your
use Audio-visual Room. These include materials for the study of
the Japanese language.
